Inspired by the chewiness of Japanese mochi, Mocchi Donut reinvents what a donut can feel like. Made with a Japanese rice flour blend, every bite is chewy on the outside, cloud‑light on the inside — and unlike anything you've had before.

Mocchi Donut started at a weekend market with one simple idea: New Zealanders deserve something genuinely different.

We make every donut fresh at the market, because we believe fast food and quality food aren't opposites. Real ingredients. A recipe perfected over months. No shortcuts.

A mochi donut uses glutinous rice flour instead of regular wheat flour. The result is a donut that's chewy on the outside, cloud‑light on the inside — completely different from anything you've tried before.

Not yet — every Mocchi Donut is made to order at the market for maximum freshness. No frozen product, ever. Follow us on Instagram for market schedules.

Our donuts are made with rice flour and contain significantly less gluten than traditional donuts. However they are not certified gluten‑free. If you have a severe intolerance, please ask us at the stall.
